We're in Yancey, Texas — about an hour (45 minutes to an hour) west of San Antonio. San Antonio International (SAT) is the closest airport, and once you book we'll send exact driving directions.

Yes. To hunt with us you'll need a valid Texas hunting license. You can buy one online from Texas Parks & Wildlife before you arrive.

Our seasons run at different times depending on the species. Many hunters love late October through November, but early and late seasons both have their advantages — early season brings milder weather and near-perfect racks before the rut; late season brings colder weather that keeps the deer moving all day.

Your hunting license, weather-appropriate hunting attire, and your legal firearm, ammunition, optics, and gear. Don't have a firearm? We can provide one after you sign the waiver. Not every caliber is right for every hunt, so please call ahead and let us know what you're bringing.

Yes — most exotic hunts run year-round. Whitetail hunts run during the MLD seasons (roughly late September through February) per Texas Parks & Wildlife rules.

Yes. We have a covered shooting range out to 300 yards, so you can sight in before you ever climb into a blind.

Right away — no need to wait for next season. Some guests book as far as two years out, so if you loved your stay, go ahead and plan the return trip.

Yes. Our deer roam freely across hundreds of acres within the property. Our guides know their movements well and have positioned the blinds accordingly.

A combination of superior genetics, selective breeding, and a nutritious diet — plus the restraint to only take 12 to 15 bucks a year — grows some of the most impressive whitetail in South Texas.

Yes, the ranch is high-fenced.

Up to 78 guests across six lodges. The Meridian hunting lodge sleeps up to 20 (5 bedrooms plus a loft), the Main House sleeps 12–20 (5 bedrooms, 6 baths), and four more lodges each sleep 8–12.

Yes — the lodges and the whole compound are Wi-Fi connected, with DirecTV in every lodge.

Plenty. Fish the three-acre pond, cook in the outdoor kitchen, watch a game on the big screens, or kick back by the fire with a chef-prepared meal. There's also a pool, sport courts, a shooting range, and UTV trails.

Meals are included when you book a hunt. Our cooks prepare a big breakfast and dinner for lodge guests, with lunch usually packed to go. Prefer to cook your own? Just let us know in advance.

A non-refundable day fee (per hunter/non-hunter) books your stay and acts as your deposit. Your final price is set by the class of animal you harvest — see the full rates on each hunt page.

We have a "No Kill, No Pay" policy — you don't pay the trophy fee if you don't harvest. Note that any animal shot, wounded, and not retrieved counts as your harvest; your guide will keep looking for that animal for the rest of your hunt.

Yes. We're grateful for our servicemen and women, so we offer a 10% military discount.

None. Your price includes the hunt, lodging, meals, and game processing. The only out-of-pocket costs are your taxidermist or meat processor. Tipping your guides and staff is customary but not required.

Absolutely. Guests are welcome to stay at the lodge and enjoy the amenities, and non-hunters can even sit in the blind with you to take photos. Each additional hunter/non-hunter is charged a day fee.

Yes — there's no age limit. Just keep in mind that any hunter who takes an animal pays the trophy price.

Yes. Legacy Ranch hosts almost any occasion — weddings, corporate retreats, church groups, reunions. Our accommodations flex for groups of all sizes. Call us to plan it.

We offer fully-guided and semi-guided hunts, not fully independent ones. On a fully-guided hunt your guide is with you every step; on a semi-guided hunt, a guide provides transportation to and from the stands and is available whenever you need a hand.

Hunter's choice. We have elevated stands and well-placed blinds across the ranch, and our guides are glad to lead spot-and-stalk or safari-style hunts if you want more of a challenge.

Yes — bow hunters can be selectively accommodated. We welcome bow, crossbow, shotgun, rifle, handgun, and muzzleloader hunters.

It's not required, though it can be advisable in larger groups for safety.

Alcohol is welcome in the lodge and on the grounds — but for safety, never before or during the hunt.

Mornings and evenings, when the deer move most. A typical day: a morning hunt, a hearty breakfast, a relaxed afternoon (or a second hunt), then the last hunt of the day followed by a five-star dinner.
